TSS Earnslaw Walter Peak Tours: Cruise, BBQ & farm adventures

As an avid traveler this is one of the best excursions we've done the whole thing was great value for money professionally done and I would recommend it to anyone

The whole trip was a great experience, well worth doing. On the way over to the farm the Earnslaw skipper gives you a good factual commentary about the area and the workings of the steamer. Walter Peak was a picturesque destination. The gourmet bbq lunch was great. Really enjoyed the farm show, especially informative for tourist's. Gift shop was definitely worth a look. Something for everyone.

The whole package. The lunch was great, with plenty of variety for all. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The farm show was cute, as I was a farm girl 50 odd years ago.

Food was unbelievable. Boat trip great, unfortunate the Earnslaw was out for maintenance.

The boat ride, the view, the farm tour and the food was all amazing. Checking in was so simple. No dramas. Just an amazing carefree afternoon. Hope to go again sometime but on the tss earnslaw boat once it's repaired. That would take the experience so much more.

Great boat trip. Awesome meal. A little bit rushed though. Could have done with another 15-30 minutes to look around & view gift shop properly at the end.

We both enjoyed the cruise especially the fact that you can see the engine working. The bbq was nice. The booking, ticketing was easy and the staff were friendly.

Very well organised loading / unloading easy Captains educational along the way was great , Mr Stewart ? Singing was very relaxing and enjoyable . Queenstown is such a picturesque township, what's not to like. Thoroughly enjoyed the history of the ship .Barry & Gaye 🤩

Super easy to book. A beautiful calm evening with stunning sunset. Enjoyed being able to see the ship's engine. Delicious meal and impressive farm show. 10/10 experience!

The cruise across Lake Wakatipu was magnificent. Lunch was plentiful and just beautifully presented. Unfortunately, even as a tourist, it's hard to understand other tourists' behaviour. The tour is a "must do" when in Queenstown - especially for the first time. I must admit it was a little confusing how lunch was organised and which entry to go to etc. The other small issue was that the PA on the boat was impossible to understand. I have seen similar feedback - after the experience, but I thought that having the waiter at the table explain the next steps was important and worked well - it was just making sure you were in the right place to get that explanation that may be an issue for some. Overall - it was a great experience and I'm pleased to have done it - best lunch in Queenstown!

it was fun, staff were amazing, wished we could have stayed for the island visit and lunch but we were time poor, so just did the ride over and back

we were happy with the ticketing with headout. As an older couple not completely savvy with the internet an on line ticketing we found headout easy to use. the Earnslaw cruise to Walter Peak farm was awesome and my husband love going in to the engine room wher you saw the crew putting the coal into the big furnaces. The Farm tour was mainly geared for families with chidren so now we wished we had had the BBQ Lunch which we have been told is a must do. Next time .... WE enjoyed very much the dog and sheep show and the tour leader on the farm tour was very informative and happy to answer questions. all in all a good trip which we indeed would recomend

Easy to book online. Checking in was quick. Captains knowledge was informative. Music on board was lovely to listen to.

I had anticipated a BBQ Lunch, but it was nto clear until the guests were segregated that the Farm tour came only with tea. It was a bit embarassing.

Ticketing was was easy. The ship was gear. Very exciting to see the boiler room. Stoking the coal and the engines running. The farm excellent. Quinn was great. Plenty of animals to see and shearing the sheep was interesting. Kim the sheep dog was good too. Overall great experience

I didn't really know what to expect except for a boat ride and farm tour So I was really surprised how wonderful the whole excursion was lovely

WE really enjoyed the farm tour and it was also very interesting to be able to watch the engine room of the coal fired steamer.

Everything! I booked half an hour before the experience. I received a phone call while I was waiting in line to see if I had made it to the jetty ready to board..ah yes...surprised at the followup. Like who does that, impressed team! Staff - friendly on the boat and on shore Farm tour - very informative, play time with the animals, i loved the care and safety of the animals from the tour guide (wondering if a translator would be helpful as saw an asian participant touch and pull horns when told not too). Timing was just right..not too long and not too short. Farm show - impressive, exceeded my expectations. Loved the amphitheater. Afternoon tea - wow what...loved it (the fresh scones were like my mum's homemade ones) Boat ride - added to the experience Overall a 10/10 experience and will highly recommend it to colleagues and family.

Excellent boat cruise, with the Captain providing good info. The welcome snacks at the farm were tasty, and warmly served. The shearer (guy from Wales) was absolutely brilliant. He made the visit so entertaining! The animals were adorable, especially the Scottish cattle (the male, Doogle!) and the Alpacas! The shearing demo was brilliant! Overall, a fantastic experience!

Great little cruise around Lake Wakatipu with Captain Troy providing an exceptional experience with his knowledge and assitance throughout. SHout out also to Bri who managed the bar superbly.

Everything was beautiful. The boat was so fancy and beautiful. The staff was really friendly and lovely. The comments were interesting and useful. Milford sound is one of the best place in the world and this company is my favorite one. I'll recommend them without any hesitation they are amazing.

The professionalism of the pilot/guide of the boat.

Loved the small boat and that we could get close to the waterfall. My husband and I were happy to be able to stand in front of the boat while the boat was turning. Best experience of our trip! Thanks so much and for the skipper for all the information given during the tour.

Absolutely fantastic the smaller boat so much better and the crew where the best ticketing was so easy and they even kept in touch to let us know when we where expected aboard x our friends did it a few days earlier and had the same wonderful experience xx I recommend you go on the small boat you get closer to nature 👏❤️

It's a spectacular experience, a wonderful adventure in the heart of Mildford Sound! What's more, we were lucky enough to see some dolphins!

Crew was fantastic both in their knowledge and hospitality. They even helped us spot dolphins in the crazy rainy weather. Captain especially made sure everyone stayed safe onboard and the hot chocolate was like icing on cake. Ticketing experience and check in was quite smooth and hassle free

It was a good day! Cruise was 2 hours, not 3, but that was adequate. Bus travel was somewhat shorter than advertised. All that aside, it was a very good day. RealNZ was a great provider! Thanks.

Very punctual tour. The driver was happy and knowledgeable with her commentary and a very good driver. Foggy day but we saw the waterfalls on the way back. Great day and recommend everyone do at least once in their lives.

Amazing nature, good information! Good to go there early in the morning before it gets to crowded. Some hints: - the meeting at 8.30 am is a bit to early, we only left from Te Anau at 9 am. - I didn't know about the included lunch, would have been good to announce it.

It was a unique experience. The bus trip to Milford Sound with stops in between, e.g. Mirror Lakes, was a great opportunity to take some unique photos. The boat trip in Milford Sound in fine weather was great. We sailed very close to a waterfall. Simply fantastic

Fantastic coach tour guide Sebastian with lots of beautiful stops (and toilet breaks!) along the way then a stunning beautiful boat trip with an excellent pack lunch.

Breathtaking scenery around every corner , with commentary and that was just the coach trip from Te Anau into Milford Sound! Coach Drive Camilo was on point with his historical knowledge and because he was so well versed in the latest wild life arrivals, we got to see a Shag nesting in a tree at one stop at the mirror lakes. He took an awesome photo of my husband and I at another stop with magnificent mountainous scenery behind us. He was funny, we'll informed and got us to our cruise exactly on time. The PureNZ cruise through amilsford Sound was the bucket list experience complete with hilarious and informative commentary, our chicken pie lunch was delicious and the baby sea lions lounging on rocks beneath cascading waterfalls was picture perfect. Bonus vista of a massive cruise ship up close and our brief but exciting venture out of the Sound into the teeth of a Tasman Sea westerly was the icing on the cake!

Absolutely wonderful! It was so nice to be a smaller group for this adventure. The little van was really confortable for the trip. Our guide Collin was awesome. His explanations on the culture and the region made the 5 hours to get there fly by and the stops were great to relax and enjoy fjordland park. 100% recommended.
